Case study:
Westminster Seminary California
A seminary located in Southern California with a mission of educating and preparing young men and women for future vocations that advance the gospel throughout the world.
My work as an independent contractor for Westminster Seminary California (WSC) has encompassed many years, mediums, departments, and project varieties. Over the span of 9 years, I took the school’s outdated, stale brand and breathed new life into it through strong typography, color, the use of illustration, and clean layouts. I assisted each department (admissions, alumni, academic, and development) in carrying out their shared the common goal of Christian education in their own respective ways while maintaining a cohesive brand focused on rigorous education and a close, personal community.

UPDATE Magazine
I redesigned and produced a biannual magazine, a piece that provides updates and news about the school with articles from faculty, students, and alumni.

Social media
The school has a strong social media presence so I regularly created graphics to promote events, highlight speaking quotes, advertise application windows, and show campus activities using a mix of illustration and photography. The tone used in social media was lighter, personal, and more playful than the more formal, academic voice used on the website which carried more gravitas.

Use of illustration
An introduction of illustration into the brand’s tool belt offered a warm, playful, and unique facet that stands out from competitors. These were primarily used for Admissions promotion materials in an effort to attract new prospective students.
